GESAMTKUNSTWERK

Maia Stam is a senior dance major and communication and media studies minor at Goucher College.  This website represents Maia's senior thesis project, a year-long project exploring the concept of Gesamtkunstwerk, or "The Total Work of Art," and how it can be used in today's culture of dance and choreography.  The culmination of this research was "Paisley Mastodons," an original choreographic work embodying the tradition of Gesamtkunstwerk through the use of multiple media.  The piece was performed on May 3, 2015 at Goucher College as part of a showcase titled Inner(act).
